Official Rules
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Void where prohibited by law and outside the United States. Subject to all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances. Sweepstakes begins on April 25, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on June 14, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. ET (“Sweepstakes Period”). Entry into this Prize Drawing constitutes your acceptance of these Official Rules. Sponsor’s computer is the official time keeping device for the ACEC Research Institute Prize Drawing (“Sweepstakes”).
ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open to legal U.S. residents currently residing in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years old or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of legal residence, whichever is older, as of the date of entry (each, an “Entrant” collectively, “Entrants”). Employees of ACEC Research Institute (“Sponsor”), or any of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, consultants, contractors, legal counsel, advertising, public relations, promotional, fulfillment, and marketing agencies, web site providers, web masters (collectively, the “Sweepstakes Entities”), and members of their immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children, regardless of where they live) and those living in the same household are not eligible to enter or win. Participation constitutes Entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and to Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of winners.

HOW TO ENTER: There are two (2) ways to enter:
(A) Donation: You may enter the prize drawing during the Sweepstakes Period directly through a donation to the Sponsor by submitting your monetary donation electronically on the Sponsor’s website at acecresearchinstitute.org. Each Entrant will be required to provide his/her name, home address, phone number, and e-mail address. Upon receipt of your entry, Sponsor will enter your name into the Sweepstakes. To confirm entry, Sponsor will send you a confirmation email.
(B) Mail In Entry: You may enter without donation during the Sweepstakes Period by sending Sponsor a written request to enter titled “FREE ENTRY TO PRIZE DRAWING” to 1015 15th Street, NW, 8th Fl., Washington, D.C. 20005-2605 (NOTE: Mail-in entries must be received by Sponsor by June 14, 2021 to be considered for the drawing) with your first and last name, complete address, daytime phone number, date of birth and e-mail address. Upon receipt of your request, Sponsor will enter your name in the Sweepstakes.
LIMIT: You may enter multiple times during the Sweepstakes Period. You may select in which prize pool(s) you would like your entry to be placed. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Entries must be submitted by the Entrant. Any attempt by any Entrant to obtain more than the stated number of plays and/or entries by using multiple and/or different identities, forms, registrations, email addresses, logins, or any other methods will void that Entrant’s plays and/or entries, and that Entrant may be disqualified at Sponsor’s discretion. Automated or bulk entries or entries submitted by third parties will be disqualified. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SPONSOR MAY SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY ENTRANT OR OTHER PERSON ENGAGING IN SUCH A VIOLATION TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS FEES, COURT COSTS AND EXPENSES. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the email address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. Potential winners may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder to the Sponsor or forfeit the prize. Entries specifying an invalid, non-working, or inactive email address will be disqualified and ineligible to win. You must complete all required information to be eligible to enter. Incomplete, illegible, corrupted, or untimely entries are void and will be disqualified.
PRIZE DRAWING: The potential winners will be selected during a virtual online random drawing on June 15, 2021 and notified within five (5) business days of the drawing by registered mail, phone, and/or email. All Entrants may watch the drawing via Zoom; a link to the Zoom will be provided prior to the drawing for all interested Entrants. All taxes, costs and fees associated with prize or prize delivery or acceptance not specified are the sole responsibility of the winners. If the prize is not claimed within thirty (30) days of notification by Sponsor, an alternate potential winner will be selected by a new drawing from all remaining eligible entries. Where permitted by applicable law, the winners may be required to sign a Declaration of Eligibility, Release of Liability and/or a Publicity Release. Failure to return the required documents within the time period specified may result in forfeiture of prize and random selection of alternate potential winner from remaining eligible entries. Unless otherwise arranged between Sponsor and winner, prizes will be delivered to winners via Federal Express, UPS or USPS Certified Mail within approximately two (2) weeks of receipt by Sponsor of all prize acceptance documents.
If a potential winner cannot be contacted in person via email, telephone, and/or registered mail after the first attempt to contact him/her, or if he/she fails to sign and return the Declaration of Eligibility, Release of Liability and/or a Publicity Release. within the required time period (if applicable), or if potential winner and his/her companion are unavailable to travel within any time period specified by Sponsor, or in the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate winner selected by a random drawing from among all remaining eligible entries.
PRIZES: Eight (8) prizes will be awarded. The prizes consist of the following:
- Golf weekend in New Jersey (Baltrusol and Morris County Golf Club) – Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $3,400
- Prize includes two threesome’s at Morris County Golf Club, one threesome to Baltrusol, and a dinner at Morris County Golf Club. All carts and greens fees included.
- Boston Dynamics Remote Driving Experience with Spot – ARV: $600
- Nine Subscriptions to Autodesk collection – ARV: $28,000
- Deep South Fishing Trip – ARV: $2,500
- Overnight accommodations at the “Four C’s Coastal Cottage”, (private fishing camp of Kenny and Sheri Smith) located in CoCodrie, La; Dinner, full day fishing trip with Capt. Kenny aboard his 42’ super Center Console “Play-n-Hooky”. Travel to CoCodrie, LA not included.
- Whiskey & Cigars – ARV: $762
- Two Sets of Scotch Whiskey & Tasting Glasses – ARV: $600
- Wine Cellar – ARV: $750
- Golf at The Club at Mediterra – ARV: $1,100
- Includes Greens Fees for three, carts, and lunch. Travel not included
Total ARV of all prizes to be awarded: $37,212
Odds of winning any prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received. Limit one (1) prize per person, per household. Any and all applicable federal, state, and local taxes and all fees and expenses related to acceptance and use of prize not specifically stated herein are the responsibility solely of winner. Prize cannot be substituted, assigned, transferred, or redeemed for cash; however, Sponsor reserves the right to make equivalent prize substitutions at its sole discretion. Additional terms, conditions and restrictions, including blockout dates, apply to travel prizes; all arrangements will be made [by potential winner working with Sponsor or Sponsor’s agent or representative.] Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen prizes or components of a prize(s). Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer. Only the number of prizes stated in these Official Rules is available to be won in the Sweepstakes. If, by reason of a print or other error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these Official Rules, an alternate winner will be selected in accordance with the winner selection method described above from among all eligible claimants making purportedly valid claims to award the advertised number of prizes available.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: By entering this Sweepstakes, Entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules. All U.S. federal, state, municipal, and local laws and regulations apply. Any entry blanks or other materials that are incomplete, illegible, altered, counterfeited or tampered with or obtained other than through legitimate and authorized sources are void and Sponsor shall not be responsible for illegible, damaged, lost, forged, late, stolen, postage due, incomplete, undelivered/undeliverable or misdirected mail/entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any non-intentional, incorrect or inaccurate information associated with the Sweepstakes or for any technical or human error that may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for, and hereby disclaims any liability resulting from, any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or delay in the operation or transmission of any entry, or the destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer networks, servers or computer network providers, computer equipment, software, hardware, e-mail or any combination thereof, including injury or damage to Entrant or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this Sweepstakes. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes cannot be run as planned, Sponsor may disqualify any suspect entries and (a) suspend the Sweepstakes and modify the Sweepstakes to address the impairment, then resume the Sweepstakes in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; and/or (b) terminate the sweepstakes and award the prize at random from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment.
PUBLICITY; LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND RELEASES: BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES, ENTRANT AGREES THAT SPONSOR, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE PARENT COMPANIES, AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, REPRESENTATIVES, CONSULTANTS, CONTRACTORS, LEGAL COUNSEL, ADVERTISING, PUBLIC RELATIONS, PROMOTIONAL, FULFILLMENT AND MARKETING, WEBSITE PROVIDERS, WEB MASTERS, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES, AND AGENTS (THE “RELEASED PARTIES”) WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR, AND SHALL BE HELD HARMLESS BY ENTRANTS AGAINST, ANY LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND TO PERSONS, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH, OR PROPERTY RESULTING IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, ENJOYMENT, MISUSE, OR USE OF THE PRIZE, ENTRY, OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR IN ANY SWEEPSTAKES RELATED ACTIVITY, OR ANY CLAIMS BASED ON PUBLICITY RIGHTS, DEFAMATION OR INVASION OF PRIVACY, OR MERCHANDISE DELIVERY. THE RELEASED PARTIES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANY PRIZE CANNOT BE AWARDED DUE TO CANCELLATIONS, DELAYS, OR INTERRUPTIONS DUE TO ACTS OF GOD, ACTS OF WAR, NATURAL DISASTERS, EPIDEMICS/PANDEMICS, WEATHER, OR TERRORISM.
EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, PARTICIPATION IN THE SWEEPSTAKES CONSTITUTES WINNER’S GRANT TO SPONSOR (WHICH GRANT WILL BE CONFIRMED IN WRITING ON REQUEST OF SPONSOR), AND THE RELEASED PARTIES THE RIGHT AND PERMISSION TO PRINT, PUBLISH, BROADCAST, AND USE, WORLD WIDE IN ANY MEDIA NOW KNOWN OR HEREAFTER DEVELOPED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WORLD WIDE WEB, AT ANY TIME OR TIMES, THE WINNER’S ENTRY, NAME, PORTRAIT, PICTURE, VOICE, LIKENESS, OPINIONS AND BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO HOMETOWN AND STATE) FOR ADVERTISING, TRADE, AND PROMOTIONAL PURPOSES (INCLUDING THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF HIS OR HER NAME ON TELEVISION OR RADIO BROADCAST) WITHOUT ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION, COMPENSATION, PERMISSION, OR NOTIFICATION.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING REGARDING THIS SWEEPSTAKES, INCLUDING THE WEBSITE AND ALL PRIZES, ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY. CHECK LOCAL LAWS FOR ANY RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS REGARDING THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS.
DISPUTES: Except where prohibited, Entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the United States District Court for the District of the District of Columbia or the appropriate State Court located in Washington D.C. (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the Entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Washington D.C. , without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of Washington D.C. or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Washington D.C.
